Children's Parade, July 26

Our company left Thursday morning.  Thursday morning Isaiah and I also helped pick up Grammy from a doctors appointment. So I guess by the time Isaiah got down for his nap he was exceptionally tired... and I'm not sure why, but he wanted to sleep on the floor so I left him and he fell asleep.  I later slipped into his room to get this adorable picture of my baby (I mean big boy) all snuggled up on his blankie.

Isaiah was still napping when Travis got home from work so we had a quick dinner and then once Isaiah woke up we headed to the Children's Parade and let him eat his dinner in the stroller while we waited for the parade to start.

The first part of the children's parade was the police motorcycles.

Then an old fire truck drove past.

Next, we got to see Mater (the main reason we even attended the children's parade)!

Nemo is hanging from the tow hook!

Isaiah LOVED seeing Mater and Lightening!

Lighting McQueen was pretty cool too, but Mater looked more realistic.

And then the rest of the parade wasn't anything too amazing, but Isaiah still had fun.  We thought this little kid in the airplane was cool.  When the parade was finally over Isaiah didn't want it to be over and he didn't want to leave.

After the parade we decided to go for a walk.  We headed over to a park close to our friends house that we don't often get to explore.  Our friends were getting ready to eat dinner so we just quickly said hello and then Isaiah had fun checking out the slides at the park!  After playing at the park our friends walked over to meet us and then we all walked to Jem 100 to get ice cream.  It was a fun evening, and a good start to our three day weekend!

Isaiah also spent a little time trying to improve his climbing ladder skills...he got pretty confident after a couple trips up.

Gifts from the Christensen Family

Emily brought me this adorable re-useable bag from Hong Kong!

Emily brought Isaiah this taxi from Hong Kong!

Emily bought this toy for Joy when they arrived in the US this summer, and then she bought this same toy for our baby boy who will soon come home to enjoy it!

Joy had her first cold in the US and thus had to have saline spray and nose sucking...so Emily thought we needed a nose sucker too!

Emily also bought us a new book to add to our collection!  She even made sure it was multi-cultural with all kinds of kids represented in the story.

Thank you Christensen family for all the wonderful gifts! We sure enjoyed our week with you.

More Baby Cuteness!

Joy wore her new cute pink onesie with two zebras that says I love mommy (from us) on Wednesday!  Luckily Emily had some white pants with little pink ruffles on the bottom to match her fun new shirt.

And soon we will have more baby cuteness in our family!  We are beginning to get ready for when our little guy is born and able to come home so we just installed a new car seat!  Isaiah made sure to check it out for his little brother...he liked it!

Big brother, Isaiah got a new matching carseat too...he liked it too!

At the end of the day bath time is always a good choice... Isaiah was so good at waiting for his turn to take a bubble bath while Joy splashed around first in the tub.

Shopping Day with Emily (and Joy)

On Tuesday, July 24 Emily, Joy and I got to enjoy a shopping/errands day together!  I love getting to do the normal day to day activities with Emily when she visits.  We got to go to Target, Costco, Panera Bread for lunch, and Bed Bath and Beyond.  We were both successful in getting a few items from our lists.

Isaiah didn't even have to be bored by our shopping/errands day because Pops was working for home since Nonna and Pops were having some trees cut down on their property. Isaiah got to spend the morning/afternoon with them!  Thanks wonderful parents for being awesome grandparents!

Brad, Emily, and Joy had dinner plans with some friends, but we still enjoyed an evening of hanging out-playing toys and chatting afterwards.  Our family sure does loves baby Joy!

Isaiah asked to hold baby Joy, but then he wasn't too sure...

Then he asked to hold her again, but kind of ignored her and kept playing his toy...
...until she started grabbing his shirt-then he was done!

Isaiah loves Brad!

On Monday, July 23 we had a small senior year college roommate reunion.  Bree, a friend who lives in Eugene, and her two children Javon and Oliva came up to see Emily and Joy and Isaiah and I for a play date.  We met at my house first and then headed down to McMinnville Discovery Meadows Park. Bree had read about our recent trip to this park to meet Elise, Campbell, and Greyson on my blog and wanted to check the park out. Isaiah was happy to go back and enjoy the SLIDES!

Isaiah was sure to find all the fun twisty slides first thing!
Going down the super swirly steep slide one at a time is great!
A little wild, but she came out smiling!

Heading back up together...

Going down together, not so good. Olivia bumped both sides of her head, she was done sliding after that...

There are so many different sections to this park that the kids moved around a LOT!  It was constant work to keep track of all of them, but the kids had fun so it was worth it.
Trying a ride on the spinning seats; a little too wild. Isaiah was smart enough just to spin them while standing up.

The kids enjoyed playing inside of the train tunnel.

Elise, Campbell, and Greyson joined us at the park too -since they live in McMinville.
Greyson is totally walking now- so he had fun playing at the park.

Javon made Olivia go under his legs to get through.

The kids also enjoyed the sand pit!

Isaiah thought it was fun to bury himself with sand.

Campbell and Isaiah enjoyed hanging out on the spinning toy.  Campbell got a good ride and Isaiah got a good workout!

Eventually the kids were starting to get grumpy and needed a car rest time so we left the park and headed back to our house for a little more hangout time.

When we were just about home my mom called me and said she ran into Katie at Fred Meyer (Katie is another college roommate who lives in Idaho, but was in town for Yearly Meeting at George Fox).  Mom gave me Katie's number and I invited her over for a quick play date.

Isaiah & I, Emily & Joy, Bree & Javon & Olivia, and Katie & Maddox filled our house!  We were just missing our college roommate Mary & her daughter, Avery- next time!  It was fun to catch up with everyone and meet adorable children.

Emily's husband Brad was around at the end of our play date and Javon thought he was pretty cool... as does Isaiah!

At the end of our visit we quickly took a few friends photos...

(Not totally sure why but Bree and I both had red objects in our hands...so we posed for Emily)
(We got rid of the red objects, but personally I think the first photo was better)

Bree also made a gift for Isaiah...super cute-thanks friend!
