We did a stay-cation with my family this weekend. The fun began Friday night with us all meeting to go to dinner at Red Robin. I think my dad took a few pictures so maybe I can add one later. That evening after Campbell went to bed we watched Ghost of Girlfriend's Past. It was pretty good.

On Saturday the girls got pedicures and went to Sleighbells (without Campbell) and Lakeshore Learning Store (with Campbell).
I showed him these gears... he loved them... his Nonna and Momma each bought him a set!
We played with this cloth fishing set for awhile. He was really good at it.
He loved this toy and his mommy bought it for him for Christmas... sh! don't tell him!
The boys had fun too... they went golfing. Saturday evening we had yummy wedding soup, home-made oatmeal bread, and home-made dill seed bread. It was a delicious dinner and fun to cook together.

On Sunday Travis and I went to check out Magness Tree Farm. It was a little rainy (and nap time) so the rest of the family didn't come, but we had a great time. We will have to take everyone here sometime. It was an awesome place!
A cool old tractor, Travis couldn't sit on it though because there was a sign that said please stay off. Bummer... he always sits on the tractors.
This place had cabins you could rent... they looked very rustic and COLD!
One yellow leaf.
It was raining so I thought I would try out a large maple leaf as my umbrella. It wasn't so great at its job.
We were walking down the path and I spotted this amazing leaf. It has a heart in it! I love this picture.
Travis and I enjoying the outdoors, but kind of a weird shoot since Travis is taking the picture for us.

These two pictures were me trying to be artistic. I think they worked pretty well.

On Sunday we also carved pumpkins.
Dad tried a new way to clean out his pumpkin. He cut a pumpkin shape out of the back of his pumpkin and cleaned it that way instead of cutting off the top. Very creative!
Travis is busy cutting the top off our pumpkin.
I was excited to show Campbell how much fun the guts and seeds of a pumpkin are... but he wasn't interested. He didn't want to stick his hand in the bowl of seeds.
I did thought because I love this part of carving.
Later with his mommy's help he kind of liked investigating the pumpkin seeds.
Dan ended up carving a bull dog on the pumpkin that I cleaned out.
This is a still in process picture of the bull dog, but I forgot to get one when it was all done.
Here is the all done picture of the pumpkin my dad carved.
Sophie had a fun weekend too... we had ordered her dog booties from REI and they came in this weekend. She is testing them out in the house. We are hoping they work for her when we take her snow shoeing later this winter.

We had a good stay-cation, but we are now back to the grind. Travis is downstairs working on homework and I will soon be joining him.

Carving Pumpkins with Josh and Kayla

We went to Josh and Kayla's house to celebrate Trav's birthday too. They made us a very yummy dinner and then we had fun carving pumpkins.
This is my really excited face... I LOVE cleaning out the insides of a pumpkin. It is the only reason to carve pumpkins!
During our carving party we called the parents to chat with them and let them be apart of our fun times.
Josh and Kayla made Mike from Monsters Inc. It turned out super cute although I still think it needed skinny arms.
Travis and I got our pumpkin carving inspiration from his t-shirt.
Yep, Travis and I made duck feet all around our pumpkin. Go DUCKS!

Happy Birthday Travis!

Travis turned 28!

The classic fish face!
Campbell was clapping during the happy birthday song.
Campbell cleaned out Trav's ear for his birthday gift.
Travis was very excited about the Office DVD set and the coffee bean grinder.

Adelaide's Favorite Spot At Our House

Drew, Abby, and Adelaide came over for dinner and to hang out. This is where Adelaide liked to hang out...
Sophie's dog crate.
Look at that happy face!

Settlers of Catan

Adam and Brook came over to play Settlers of Catan with us.
Brook, Adam, Travis, and I playing Settlers of Catan. Any time one of us didn't get a resource card when a number we didn't have was rolled we would say the game was stupid. We had a fun evening being silly and playing games together.

Adam holding up a W because he wanted everyone to know that he was the winner!
Brook and Travis kept fighting over the longest road card, but in the end Brook got to keep it.
Travis had the pirate on his land a lot this evening. He was sad he lost because of the pirate.

Travis and I With Our Kid

Well maybe not our kid, but a kid goat. We are still patiently waiting to hear wonderful news from Holt that we have been placed with a baby. Please pray that the news comes this fall.

The real deal pumpkin patch...

We also went to Lee Farms, the real deal pumpkin patch.

This farm had tons of large pumpkins. However, they weren't cheap so we just enjoyed taking pictures with them.
My mom and I loved these speckled gourds. I loved that they looked like a goose.
Thank goodness it was a beautiful warm sunny October day because I don't think this umbrella shaped gourd would have kept me dry.
I am not sure why I thought it was a good idea to attempt to pick up this large pumpkin.
This farm has several different animals. This momma pig was enjoying some pumpkin while her baby piglets slept.
The farm also had baby chickens that we could hold. This baby was so sweet. It was very calm and just slept in Trav's hand. I had fun petting it.
I finally decided not to buy one of the speckled gourds so instead I took a couples pictures to enjoy.
Maybe this speckled gourd will have to become my background picture on my computer.

Al's Garden Center

Al's Garden Center sells pumpkins for $0.99 a pumpkin if you buy ten or more pumpkins. Last weekend we took a trip to Al's Garden Center with my parents and helped them pick out several beautiful pumpkins.

My mom enjoying picking out pumpkins. This has become one of her favorite traditions.
We think we may have found one worthy of buying and carving!
Travis and I having a good time at Al's pumpkin patch!
I really liked these peppers so my dad took an artistic shoot of them for me.
Isn't this a crazy shaped pumpkin?
A happy mom with a shopping cart full of pumpkins.
My silly dad wanted to pretend to be a pumpkin.
A full car load of pumpkin. I can't wait to get to carve them!
