Driving Home From Idaho

Before we began our drive home on Sunday, June 24 we went to church one more time in Emmett, ID.  Isaiah enjoyed spending most of the service with his new friend Spencer.

Amelia, Spencer, and Laurel all loved Isaiah!

Travis was able to play his saxophone this week at church for the prelude music.  He participated on the worship team again this week.  Travis also taught the congregation a new song during the offertory.  The song was, All the Poor and Powerless, a song we sing at our home church.

After church we enjoyed one more meal with our Idaho family and friends at Idaho Pizza Company and then we began the long drive home.  We left around 2pm Idaho time, so only 1pm our time.  Travis quickly was caught driving without looking at the road...
But after I gave him a hard time he was thumbs up for a day of driving!

Isaiah wasn't too sure he was ready to leave the circle, red, twisty slide or Jolene's house...
But after a little blanket toss his mood seemed to improve a little...

Or maybe his mood improved because he took a 2 hour nap...a much needed nap.

We made our first stop 3 hours into the drive home at Pendleton Safeway for a quick bathroom, stretch, and snack break.  We let Isaiah stretch by walking on the rocks...something he loves to do in our backyard.

Isaiah spotted a truck and a trailer behind Daddy!
Isaiah had a snack of cheez-its, raisins, and chocolate milk.

Our drive home required MUCH more entertainment then our drive to Idaho.  Good think we had a bag full of toys to keep Isaiah entertained...first red wiggles.

Then airplane, but quickly followed by Scout.

Time for our 2nd stop, the Dalles, for dinner.

Oh, to be a son of a diabetic Mommy... Isaiah has found a new love for playing with the caps from my needles.

After dinner we still had about 2 hours before we would arrive home...and it seemed like a good time to pull out the I-pad!  Isaiah happily played i-pad for a good chunk of the last part of our car ride.

We arrived home around 8:45pm.  We quickly swung into Fred Meyer to fill up the car with gas and run in and get some milk.  Ah, it's good to be home!
