Weekend Trip To Madras

On Thursday, August 9th we drove to Madras. We were headed to Madras for the weekend to help with a yard sale and hang out with Grandma and Grandpa. Isaiah got sleepy in the car, but his car nap didn't last long because Mommy and Daddy wanted an ice cream treat from Baskin Robbins.  When we stopped he kind of woke up so we asked him if he wanted ice cream and of course the answer was yes!

On Friday, August 10 the yard sale started before Isaiah thought it was time to get up.  I was glad he slept in since he hadn't had a real nap the previous day and went to bed pretty late.  We kept going in to check on him and I couldn't help but take his picture...sleeping baby/big boy pictures are so cute.

We were impressed with how well the yard sale did on Friday.  Way more money was made than I expected was possible.  I am never doing a yard sale in Portland area again... it would be more worth it to haul it all to Madras and do the yard sale there again!

After a quick dinner we headed out to Eagle Crest swimming pool to enjoy the nice weather.  Isaiah had fun swimming with Grandma and Grandpa. (We didn't take our camera (phone) out to the pool area-so no pictures).  We had a good time, but it was cooling off for the evening so swimming didn't last forever. Once we were changed then we enjoyed a nice evening walk around the center.  It was a beautiful evening.  We even go to see a pond with ducks (my phone didn't get that amazing of a picture of the ducks).

Oh a funny... Travis and I recently got new George Fox Alumni shirts...and of course we both wanted to pack it for our weekend trip... so on Friday morning Travis and I decided to wear our matching outfits and see if Grandma noticed...she didn't notice, but we still thought we were funny and enjoyed matching all day!

This is how we found Isaiah on Saturday morning...all covered in his pillows and blankets-his favorite!

Saturday was filled with more yard sale time...the garage stayed pretty cool so we were able to visit while others shopped.

Saturday, mid-morning Travis, Isaiah, and I went to visit the Hyder's.  Isaiah had fun playing with new toys  (specifically Tonka Truck that had to come home with us...THANKS!) that LaRee had set out and we enjoyed visiting.

After while, Larry took us outside to show us one of his latest project...he does animal rehabilitation...and currently he had a barn owl that was receiving his services.  It was so cool to see the owl up so close...Isaiah even got to pet his wing!

Tonka Truck made sure to check out the owl and owl cage...

While we were with the Hyder's Travis mentioned that he would LOVE to fly airplanes with Mr. Hyder.  Mr. Hyder said that he/they could in the afternoon.  So after lunch, and Isaiah's nap we met at the middle school field.  It was HOT, but we had fun!

Yep, Tonka Truck came with us to fly airplanes!

Travis gave us headphones to wear so the airplane engine noise wouldn't be too loud, but Isaiah didn't like the headphones, but he also really didn't like the noise so I spent most of my time holding his head.

Even though Isaiah didn't like the loud noises when the engines started, he loved watching the airplanes fly.  He had a fun afternoon watching Daddy enjoy himself.

Saturday evening we let Grandma and Grandpa stay home with Isaiah and we went out to dinner.  We went to Geno's- a nice Italian place in town.  I liked some of the decor ideas...and wanted to show my parents so that is why there is a restaurant view picture.

We were both in the mood for pizza so we ordered a Greek pizza to share. Pay close attention to the plate we got to eat our pizza on... a slice of pizza plate, which had to be from the dollar store and it was a scratched up plastic plate....not impressed, but the pizza was pretty good and the dessert, chocolate decadence, was amazing!

We got lots of cute sleeping pictures of Isaiah on this trip...this was Saturday evening when were were headed to bed...all cuddled up!

Sunday morning before church Isaiah and Grandpa played cars...

On Sunday afternoon Grandma and Isaiah blew bubbles...

Blowing bubbles with Grandma turned into a pretend game of flying airplanes.  He was using the airplane wand as his control line...and then he would drop it because when Travis flew the day before he crashed the planes a few times and that is what Isaiah knew.  Since coming how he has been doing a lot more pretending airplane flying- it is so cute!
