Monday, June 18 VBS- Day 1 and Visiting with Friends

Emmett First Baptist Church is doing Vacation Bible School this week June 18-22.  They are using the Group Sky materials.  Travis is helping do the morning skits and is a crew leader.  His character in the morning skit is Flash, an over eager flight aviator.  He helps tell the kids at VBS the message.  Day 1 the kids learned that No Matter Who You Are...Trust God!  I am helping Jolene in the preschool classroom so that I can help Isaiah try and experience his first VBS.

Spencer is helping Isaiah try and adjust into our preschool class.  

Jolene taught the kids a cute song and Isaiah really liked it- probably because the song counts to 10!  I am hopeful to get a recording of Jolene and the kids singing this song sometime this week.

Isaiah liked to stand back from the rest of the group.  He is the youngest...3 1/2 and all the other kids are 4 or 5.

Isaiah willingly did colors (at least for a few minutes well seconds)!

The other craft project for the day was decorating little bags with fabric markers.  Each kid got to choose a colored bag...out of red, orange, green, blue, and purple my child picked orange. He is my child!  Then he asked me to help him trace a hand.  The other kids thought his idea of trace a hand was a good idea and some even copied him!

Isaiah did well with VBS today...there was a LOT of play time so he thought that was a pretty good schedule.  He loved exploring all the new toys.

He also gets to get COOKIES at VBS which he thinks is a pretty good deal too!

After the kids ate snack (or while some were finishing) Jolene read Llama, Llama Red Pajama book to the kids.  All the kids sat nicely and listened attentively unlike Isaiah who roamed the room and listened.

Isaiah also LOVES all the music we get to do at VBS. 

The Group Sky curriculum has a special time called Chadder, a chipmunk that helps teach the message.  Isaiah took a little rest in the pack section of the classroom while the rest of the kids were attached to the TV and the happenings of Chadder!

Since I am busy in the preschool classroom I don't get out to take pictures of Travis as a crew leader, but Lance got a few from Day 1.

After VBS we had lunch and then went to visit Salina and meet baby Seth (and eventually visit Tyler).  We ended up getting a special visit from Travis T. also!  So fun to see old youth group students who are all grown up now and doing well!

We chatted at their house for awhile and then we walked to a park close to their house.  Isaiah was a little reserved at exploring the new park, but once he found his favorites at the park he loved it!

The teeter-totter ended up being Isaiah's FAVORITE!  He was a little unsure, but Travis convinced him that it was a horse and once he got on he didn't want to stop riding it.

It was really windy at the park so after awhile baby Seth was not happy with the amount of the wind in his face so we headed back to their house to chat more before meeting Tyler for dinner.  Travis T. and Isaiah played on the trampoline.  Isaiah has never been on a trampoline before, but surprisingly he knew what to do and had fun!

We had a full day, but lots of fun!
