Our Trip to Disneyland!

Nonna and Pops took us to Disneyland from August 2nd- 7th. We enjoyed a fun packed week, but our vacation to Disneyland has required this next week to recover!  Hence, why I have no August blog posts yet...however, this will be a long post and I will have a couple more to come in the next few days!

Here is our trip documented through pictures.  At the Portland airport:  The kids loved the moving walkways!  So did the adults since we were a little loaded down with stuff.

On the airplane:  The full was flight so Isaiah had to sit on our laps, since he isn't 2 yet and we didn't buy him a seat.  He was pretty squirmy and didn't take get to take a very long nap.  Campbell had  a seat though and took a very long nap.

At Orange County airport:
While Nonna, Elise, and Campbell were looking at the John Wayne statue (flag and star were especially cool to look at on the statue since they are words Campbell knows!) Pops, Dan, and Travis were renting the cars and Isaiah and I were in charge of all the bags!

First dinner in CA:  In and Out- need I say more, delicious!

At the Hotel:  We rented two rooms, a suite and a single room.  It was difficult to decide where to put everyone but in the end the kids stayed in the suite Travis, Isaiah, and I were in a loft bedroom upstairs.  Dan, Elise, and Campbell were in the same room as us, but in the downstairs room.  Nonna and Pops had their own single room.  It worked out pretty well.

We were on our bed in the loft and being silly by saying goodnight to everyone still downstairs.

First Day at Disneyland:  Finding Nemo was first!  The line wasn't too bad, but there was a line so the boys got to experience what waiting and line and being patient meant.  This was the first of MANY long lines at Disneyland!

The last time we visited Disneyland (3 years ago) we didn't get to go on the NEW Finding Nemo ride.  I was disappointed.  However after making this my first (and the kids) first ride this visit, I wasn't overly impressed with the ride.

Our Second Ride:  Storybook Land Canal Boats -kind of a boring ride, but good to ease the kids into the rides.

Our Third Ride:  It's A Small World
Both boys LOVED this ride!  They were looking around at everything and clapping to the music.  It was so fun to watch them really enjoy themselves.

Resting at our Hotel:  The boys needed a break from Disneyland so Nonna, Pops, and I brought them back for a snack and some time with toys.
Pops loves his grandsons!

Day Two at Disneyland and the Fun Continues:  Elise and I took the boys on Dumbo.
While we were taking the boys on the ride, our bigger boys were trying to be funny and take silly pictures at the Dumbo ride.  Dan is crying like a baby and Travis is sucking his thumb like a baby.  Neither of our babies (Campbell or Isaiah) acted like that on the ride-silly dads!

Day Two Fun Continues:  Isaiah got to ride on the Autopia Cars- he needed to be 32 inches tall and he just barely made it.

Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters:  Isaiah didn't get a high score (like Daddy and Uncle Dan), but he did enjoy himself.

Tired From Day Two:  Both boys fell asleep in their strollers on the walk back to the hotel.  Even though it was fairly hot, they both found a way to get comfortable!

Day Three at Disneyland:  We went on many more fun rides!

Standing Next to California Adventure Entrance Letters... I for Isaiah, R I mean P for Pops... California has a letter P right?

August 6th:  Our 4th day in Disneyland I celebrated my 28th birthday!  It was a very fun filled day.  I love my family!  My amazing parents took us to Rain Forest Cafe for lunch-I had yummy appetizers!

And who doesn't want to spend their birthday with a bunch of bugs from a Bug's Life...

My birthday also included getting to see the Aladin show.  Isaiah took a nap on Nonna.  Nonna was in LOVE!

Travis and I got also to enjoy an evening by ourselves.  We got ice cream and went to the World of Color a show at California Adventure.
By the end of my birthday, and the end of our week at Disneyland our feet were sore!

Isaiah had a fun evening too with his Nonna, Pops, Aunt Elise, Uncle Dan, and cousin Campbell.  Aunt Elise even bought Isaiah (and Campbell) a cool light up necklace.  This was the boys first night experience at Disneyland!  They all went on a few more rides and got to see the fireworks.  This was Isaiah's first experience with fireworks!  Everyone said he liked them.
Showing Pops the lights in It's a Small World.

Every Good Thing Must Come to an End:  Going Home Day!
Thanks Nonna and Pops for such an amazing week at Disneyland! It was a wonderful vacation that even if the boys don't remember it was worth it.

I am sad to report that throughout all this fun my poor sister was not feeling well but was a serious trooper.  She felt so horrible on Friday morning that she even had to go to a local urgent care where they told her she had strep throat.  Upon leaving on Saturday morning she felt even more horrible(nauseous) so the flight home was a little more chaotic as we got her in a wheelchair as soon as we got to the airport.  Thus no pictures of our final adventures coming home were taken.  Once returning home and going to more doctors appointments Elise was also diagnosed with Mono.  We pray that no one else in our family gets sick and that she recovers quickly.

Thanks for all the pictures. I hope Elise is feeling better. It looks like you had a really fun birthday, what a way to celebrate and what a fun tradition to start with Isaiah and Campbell. Tonight we are playing our first settlers game in HK. miss you friend!

Nice capture of our trip. At least Isaiah and Campbell will "remember" it through the nice pictures and the blog if we can find a way to capture and store the blog. Love Pops
