Our Second Week of December (8th-14th)

I thought that if I combined my blog posts into week summaries that would allow me to get caught up on all our December happenings, but amazingly it has already been a week since I found time to sit down and write Our First Week of December blog post. So at this rate...I guess I just have to be alright with playing catch up for awhile.  So here are the happenings of our second week of December!

Saturday, December 8th
We stayed home all weekend since Isaiah had been sick (threw up on Friday) and we were trying to take it easy in hopes that no one else in our family would get sick.  Isaiah was entertained by opening his day 8 present.  It was another Lego set... a police station.

Sunday, December 9th
The day 9 present was stickers.  After so many days of Lego things he was a little confused why it wasn't a building something present at first, but he did enjoy the stickers too.

Monday, December 10th
We were supposed to meet our friends this evening to go to Zoo Lights, but with Isaiah still a little under the weather and still holding out hope that no one else would get sick we cancelled our evening plans.  I was pretty bummed to not be getting out of the house and doing fun things, but in deciding to spend another low key day inside we hoped for a faster recovery.  Esther tried out her first round of tummy time and I think she liked it pretty well.  Isaiah was happy to find a car in his day 10 present envelope.

Tuesday, December 11th
We stayed home another day in order to be cautious of not spreading our sickness and making sure we are fully recovered.  Isaiah's day 11 present...a Cars book.
Ha, I just had to check the properties of  the pictures because I noticed Isaiah was wearing the same outfit on Monday evening and Tuesday... I did organize them correctly though. We spent so much time in our pj's the last few days that he hardly wore clothes so I guess he barely wore the outfit on Monday so I just had him wear it again on Tuesday.  Ah, sickness!

Wednesday, December 12th
We had set up the week prior that our friend Brook (and her kids) would come for a visit and bring us dinner today.  We kept this commitment because Isaiah really seemed to be on the mend.  It was great to have visitors!  Brook was only at our house for about an hour, but it was a wonderful visit!

Since Brook didn't stay super long I was still feeling the need do something fun other than stay home. Isaiah has been asking for DAYS about going for a walk so I finally decided it was time.  I loaded Esther up into the carrier (her first time in my Becco carrier) and we walked to Grammy and Grandad's house.  Esther seemed to like the carrier pretty well...she stayed warm and took a good nap.
Isaiah had fun playing with the different toys at Grammy and Grandad's house.  He played with this foam stuff (like playdough) with Grandad for a long time.  They made easy things like shapes (hearts and stars were the favorite) and then he started requesting silly things like making a blender.  Grandad was a good sport and attempted to make anything Isaiah requested!

Isaiah's day 12 present was Lego picture ideas so he can use the Lego pieces he has already gotten to make other things.  He wasn't really that impressed, but someday he will think it is cool to change his Legos.

Thursday, December 14th - Isaiah's 4th Birthday!
I didn't have any specific plans for Isaiah's actual birthday except taking him to Krispy Kreme for a donut in the evening (We are trying to make this his birthday tradition).  However, we managed to come up with a fun day for our big boy!  We started the morning off right by watching his favorite movie- Cars!  I knew what his day 14 present was so I let him open it while watching the movie.  It was Cars fruit snacks!  He enjoyed his special treat with his breakfast during the movie.

Esther is still enjoying her tummy time.  She is doing well lifting her head up and moving her head from side to side to look at different things (for at least a few minutes a couple times a day).  Isaiah is enjoying having Esther down and doing something!

We went to lunch with Campbell, Greyson, Aunt Elise, and Nonna at Wendy's.  Then we went and spent the afternoon playing at Nonna's house.  Campbell was comforting Esther while she got a diaper change.

Once Daddy and Pops got home from work we went to Abby's Pizza for dinner.  This was Esther's first time!

After dinner we loaded up and headed to get a donut from Krispy Kreme.  However, someone fell asleep.  Ha, I guess he had a long day out!  He ended up waking up not too long after we arrived.  He enjoyed picking his donut- a sprinkles one and watching donuts being made.

Friday, December 14th
Since we got back late from our donut run we went ahead and put Isaiah to bed once we got home and saved his present opening for the next day.  It ended up working out great because Isaiah had something to do (presents to open and new toys to play with) while we had our first post-placement meeting with our social worker for Esther's adoption.  We gave him two presents- a Mack truck and Colossus (the tractor that gets tipped over in the Cars 2 movie).  He loved them!

His day 14 present was wash cloths...kind of more a Mommy gift, but he didn't mind.

The weather was nice on Friday so we enjoyed an afternoon walk over to visit Grammy and Grandad.  Grandad finally got to hold Esther and give her a few snuggles!

Grammy and Isaiah did their routine...a snack of a Lorna Doones and milk at the counter.

Then it was Grammy's turn to get a few Esther snuggles.

Here is Esther all bundled up after our walk home.

In the evening I got out Isaiah's magnet board and some cards that came with the magnet board that he hadn't seen before today.  The cards help you build specific things with the magnets.  He loved it and was very determined to make the card pictures.  We made almost half the pictures cards in just this one evening.

Always time for a good daddy tackle/snuggle!
