This evening was our first Christmas celebration (of several). Today we celebrated with Grandma and Grandpa Morgan, Aunt Kayla, Uncle Joshua, and Kiara so Esther wore her 1st Christmas outfit (thanks Bill and Jeannie for the cute outfit).
Kristin flew in the night prior (but it was late) so she came this morning to meet Esther for the first time. She was happy to snuggle her and glad Esther didn't spit up on her.
Uncle Ray (no picture of him holding Esther) and Grandpa are brothers and the family visits overlapped so that was fun to have more of us together even if it was for only a little while. This was also Grandpa's first time meeting Esther.
Aunt Kayla is soaking in baby snuggle because she misses when Kiara used to be this small and snuggly (and it wasn't even that long ago).
We got Grandma and Grandpa a toaster oven just like ours. They knew this was our plan so they weren't that surprised, but they liked it.
We got Kiara a couple of new books. Her Mommy is showing them to her, but she was too tired at this point to care about anything.
We also gave her a bib...our favorite kind, but she was more interested in Uncle T's shoe. Ha!
We gave Joshua and Kayla a new car seat for Kiara, but they weren't surprised either since we had asked them in advance.
Before bed Grandma and Isaiah got to enjoy his new train set.
His second to last present a day was another Lego set.
At church he got a present from Don and Anna Loving...a new Oregon Ducks football. Esther got a Oregon Ducks onesie that she will enjoy soon. Thanks friends!
That evening we went to Red Robin for dinner. Kristin loves this restaurant and they don't have it in Chicago so she was happy to convince us (not hard to do since Travis really likes this restaurant also) to take Esther to Red Robin for the first time.
I had wanted to get a family picture all day...and since we all still had on our cute church clothes I asked Kelsey to take one once we got back. The first few she took ended up being blurry (not included), but luckily she realized and attempted again and the last one we took was an awesome family picture!
Monday, December 24th
On Christmas Eve Kristin, Kelsey, Nonna, and I (with a little Isaiah help) made cinnamon rolls to eat on Christmas morning. It was a fun activity to do and they tasted great the next morning.
Travis and Isaiah played Legos/Duplos while we were busy making/baking in the kitchen.
Pops worked on making the pie crusts for Christmas day pies.
Everyone took turns snuggling Esther throughout the day and somehow she has this wonderful tendency to make people holding her fall asleep too.
Isaiah had one big present from us...
and it was a box with several Shake n Go cars!
Our best Christmas gifts are our kids..
I got Travis a new pair of slippers. He probably wasn't too surprised, but he really needed them.
I also got him a new Blazer t-shirt that he was pretty excited about and he has already worn it a few times.
We got Esther one main gift too. We knew Isaiah would like it and play it with/for Esther until she is old enough to appreciate it.
The gift was purple Scout (as Isaiah called it) but really her name is Violet and she is the girl version of Isaiah's favorite stuffed animal, Scout.
Here are the pictures from opening gifts at Nonna and Pops house. Thanks family for all the wonderful gifts!
We gave Nonna and Pops a large nativity set. This was something they wanted for their new house. They have a buffet counter area that they thought would be a cool spot for a bigger nativity set. And to keep in our true spirit...I don't think this gift was much a surprise to them either.
We got Elise a new sweatshirt.
We got Greyson some squishy cars. Isaiah thought they were pretty cool so he was happy to help Greyson play with the new toy.
We got Campbell a build/take apart car set.
Nonna and Pops bought both the bigger boys an awesome Cars set...12 new cars!
Pops is always worried about Esther's comfort level and warmth level. Today he thought that her dress buttons were bothering her and keeping her from her afternoon slumbers...so he undid the straps and then she fell asleep so he was VERY happy.
And eventually she lost the whole dress...poor girl, but she still looked adorable!
Elise (and her family) and I (and our family) stayed at Nonna and Pops new house for the first time on Christmas. Elise had fun reading to Esther in the late evening.
Wednesday, December 26th
Poor Travis had to go back to work today, but the rest of us enjoyed a morning of hanging out at Nonna and Pops house. Elise, Nonna, and I got away for a shopping trip to Target in the afternoon. Poor Campbell has a bad cough today so after our trip to Target we went over to Kaiser to get him some medicine. We had dinner with the family and then we came back home that evening and Esther got to enjoy a couple of her new toys. The tiny baby doll was from Grammy and Grandad and the butterfly rattle from Chuck, Cheryl, Kristin, and Kelsey. She loves both!
Thursday, December 27th
Poor Travis still had to work today. Esther wore an outfit her Aunt Elise gave her so we documented it.
Friday, December 28th
Daddy was home again...and he was determined to get a smile out of Esther.
Trying to smile is a lot of work so nap times are important too, but Daddy kept bugging her...making her snuggle with new friend Violet.
