James 1:27 says, “Religion that God accepts as pure and faultless is this; to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” God desires for orphans of all nations to be loved, cared for, and adopted into Christian families-ultimately so they can become saved, and be adopted into His eternal family through Jesus Christ!

Happy Father's Day!
On Saturday (6/19) we celebrated Father's Day by going to Olive Garden. Since we spent Mother's Day flying home with Isaiah we were happy to celebrate a "Family Day" and enjoy hanging out together as a family of three. The food was so yummy and Isaiah did great in a tiny bit fancier restaurant.
Isaiah wasn't in the mood to take pictures at the restaurant so this was our best shot of Daddy and son. Oh, well I think they are both still cute!
Daddy was trying to teach his son how to color.
Very serious about his coloring.
Talking to us about his coloring.

New Family Photos and 18 Month Photos!
In December Travis and I went to the Sherwood Library to take pictures for our Christmas cards. In the photos we held a framed picture of Isaiah. On Sunday afternoon we went to the Sherwood Library again, but this time we got to hold our baby boy in our arms since he is now home! Thanks for taking the pictures Pops and thanks Nonna for being silly and getting Isaiah to smile.
These are my favorite pictures from our photo shoot.

We have a boy with many facial expressions! We love seeing him become more and more comfortable with us. We look forward to many more photo shoots as a family.

Happy 18 Months!
Yesterday Travis made chocolate chip muffins for Lance and Jolene (and us) before they had to start their drive home. Isaiah was still sleeping when we ate breakfast so he didn't get to have a muffin. However, this morning since it was his 18 month birthday I gave him a muffin since they are kind of like a cupcake. We missed being with him on his first birthday, so we don't have any great pictures of him with cake yet, but we now have these fun pictures of him eating a muffin!
I guess even muffins can be messy, but it was worth it because he sure loved it!
This is his dirty left hand.
This is his mostly clean right hand.
We are leaning towards thinking he will be left handed...that seems to be what he uses most to feed himself, throw a ball, etc. We are interested to see if this stays the same of changes as he grows older.
We also did an 18 month hand prints project with Isaiah. He did pretty well with the project...although he didn't really like the clean up part.
I think he thought getting ink on his hand was a little weird feeling.
He wasn't a huge fan of keeping his hand still long enough so we could get a good print. It took me a couple tries before I was successful!
Pretty nice looking hand prints. Mommy and Daddy love you tons Isaiah!
He got to have a snack of goldfish after his poor parents traumatized him with the hand print project!

Cruisin Sherwood
There was amazing sunshine on Saturday-finally! We spent part of our day exploring the Cruisin Sherwood car show. We had a lot of fun checking out the cool old cars. Pops is a great photographer and got some good pictures of us and the old cars!

Sisters and their boys.
Isaiah had a relaxing time in the stroller. He chewed on his fingers a lot...I think more teeth are coming in! He even ended up falling asleep.

Nonna and Campbell-he was in a very wiggly non-picture mood!

Campbell got tired after a while at the car show... I was playing the name his body parts game with him... and he feel asleep on my shoulder. I love being an Aunt!

Campbell slept on me for a while, but he was making me super hot, so Elise ended up caring him part of the way home too. Both boys started their naps at the Cruisin Sherwood car show.

Successful Haircut!
Monday morning Nonna and I took Isaiah to Whipper Snippers in Wilsonville, OR. This is a kid friendly haircut store. At the front of the store there is a play structure for the kids to play on while they wait for their turn. They have special chairs... I think Isaiah got to sit in a rocket. He also got to watch Elmo (although I don't think he even watching any of it). All in all, we were successful this time... Isaiah got a haircut!
I am trying to help Isaiah think the chair is cool. I am showing him all the buttons.
The distractions are working...the stylist is getting some of the hair cut. Oh yeah, the stylist also didn't make him wear a cape...which he was grateful about!
We had to take lots of breaks during the haircut... I had to give him several Mommy snuggles when he was getting a little fussy and not wanting to be in the chair, but he wasn't really upset and crying so that was an improvement from our last attempt.
Making some more progress! The final part of the haircut was his cutting his bangs. I had to hold him and Nonna had to hold his chin... which brought about tears, but he looks so much better now.
Finished hair cut... but not so sure he is happy about it! Don't worry he was all smiles again once we went to Target and Subway for lunch.

More Visitors
Ray, Mardi, and Lauren came to visit Isaiah this past Sunday. They brought Isaiah a new friend, Scout (a green puppy dog made by LeapFrog). This dog is super smart and can be programed. Scout knows that he belongs to Isaiah and has songs with Isaiah's name in them. It is pretty cool!
Here are a couple photos from their visit (not the greatest quality though...I'm not exactly sure why, but Travis thinks Isaiah was moving too much when he took them)
