Hip, Hip Hooray...

I am thankful for Monday! (HooRay...MonDay...ah rhymes! sometimes you just need a good one)

Monday, July 9th started with Travis going to work at 7am for his first day at A-dec.   (He was very busy, and had a great 1st day!)

Isaiah, and I started our morning at 9am by meeting a bunch of our family (Grammy, Grandad, Aunt DeAnn, Aunt Cheryl, Uncle Chuck, Kristin, and Kelsey) and walking to breakfast at Shari's.  While there I received a phone call at 9:32am from Florida!  I know when I looked down at my caller ID I debated for seconds deciding if I should take the call or call them back later.  I quickly asked Grammy to watch Isaiah and took the call in the front entry way of Shari's.  In our 3 minute conversation I found out that an almost 19 year old African American girl had selected us to adopt her baby and that her baby is due in early September!  They think the baby is a boy...they just did an ultra sound, but since she is farther along (around 32 weeks) the baby was bigger than when they normally check (around 20 weeks) so it was a little crowded to tell for sure. I was and am so excited!

I knew Travis was at his first day of work and I wouldn't be able to tell him so I think I thought I'll just go back to the table and after breakfast figure out how to tell Travis our great news.  However, once I reached the table I was in so much shock I started to cry.  Kelsey (I think) asked are you ok?  Was that Florida? So...without much thinking I shared yes, it was Florida and all the details I knew at that point.  My family was so excited for us!  I quickly went back to the front entry to text Travis and call Nonna and Pops.  Meanwhile, my french toast had arrived so I tried my best to eat some of it, but somehow my focus and appetite was elsewhere.

After everyone was done eating their breakfast we sat around the Shari's table and were talking.  I shared why I had experienced so much shock...so remember yesterday's blog post when I shared about the sermon...and that our pastor had said what are you desperate for?  THE VERY NEXT (MONDAY) DAY GOD ANSWERED SOME HUGE PRAYERS OF OUR FAMILY!  It is such a great feeling to have confirmed faith!  Praise the Lord for blessing us with this news.

I have been reading Jesus Calling by Sarah Young ...sometimes (probably more often) I get behind on the daily reading.  So I just went back and was reading a couple I was behind with and found Sunday, July 8th to align so well with Pastor Dave's sermon and our Monday!

"WHEN YOU SEEK MY FACE, put aside thoughts of everything else, I am above all, as well as in all; your communion with Me transcends both time and circumstances. Be prepared to be blessed bountifully by My Presence, for I am a God of unlimited abundance.  Open wide your heart and mind to receive more and more of Me.  When your Joy in Me meets My Joy in you, there are fireworks of heavenly ecstasy.  This is eternal life here and now: a tiny foretaste of what awaits you int eh life to come. Now you see only a poor reflection as in a mirror, but then you will see face to Face." John 15:11; 1Corinthians 13:12

I hope this confirmed faith can lead me to have contagious faith for myself and others!  I am so thankful for the new beginnings Monday brought to our family.  I am excited to see God's plan for our family in the next few weeks/months!
