On Day 3 of VBS Flash came out all tied up in ropes. He was upset that someone had lied to him during his flight school. He wanted to use the rope to tie the classmate onto the wing of his airplane. Lance helped him calm down and learn the Day 3 message that No Matter What Others Do...Trust God!
Travis has to go early in the mornings for a leaders meeting so normally Isaiah isn't getting to see Daddy in the morning before we head to church. He was excited to get a Daddy hug after Daddy was done playing Flash in the skit.
Here is the video I got of the 1, 2, 3 Jesus Loves Me song (Isaiah LOVES it!)
He has the hardest time during story time when he is supposed to sit. Our little boy doesn't not prefer to be still, at least not yet. Hopefully that will change as he gets older.
Jolene told the kids to pretend they were in a beautiful garden with Jesus. She brought in some roses from her garden for the kids to smell.
Jolene told the kids that they were in the garden and supposed to be watching for bad guys. However, then she told them that they got tired of staying awake all night and fell asleep.
Then a bad guy came and took Jesus...he was arrested. She told the kids to put their hands behind their backs to pretend like they were Jesus being arrested.
Jolene then told the kids that Jesus was the King, but the bad guys said no and that he must die. Jolene showed the kids the roses again and pointed out the sharp thorns. Jesus had to wear a crown of thorns...ouch!
Isaiah enjoyed closing...mostly because it contained MUSIC! He had fun hanging out with Uncle Lance a little.
Daddy likes closing too... he LOVES to SING!
Travis also got to help with the closing illustration. The balloons represented all the mean/bad things people say and do to others. The balloons overwhelmed and weighed him down!
Then Travis tried to lead the kids in a song and do all the motions, but it was awfully hard!
Once Travis trusted in God he was no longer tangled by the mean/bad thoughts (balloons) he felt much better!
When we got home from VBS there was a tree being taken down in the neighbors yard. Isaiah was
very entertained by watching the crew. He didn't want to eat lunch until most of the excitement was done.
I went out front to try and get a picture of his intense face. He was so focused on the work being done!
We ate lunch, opted for a car nap and headed out for the afternoon/evening. Isaiah feel asleep in the car so Travis drove to the furthest place we had talked about going while we were here...the Christian Books Store. Travis dropped me off and drove around for a little while so Isaiah could still nap. I had fun at the Christian Book Store and of course found a few books that had to come home with us!
Then we headed to the MK Nature Center. We had been to this nature park when we lived here in 2004-2005 and had remembered liking it. When we first got there we weren't finding the right trails to take so when we ended up discovering this park we let Isaiah go play. Another new park! We are keeping Isaiah on his toes... there is so much to explore!
At first he was a little nervous to climb the squares, but once Travis showed him how to do it he loved climbing up the squares ladder.
After a while of playing on the playground we ventured back into the MK Nature Center trails and finally found the parts of the park that we had remembered. We took a picture with this cross-hatch background...I will have to find the one from 7 years ago.
Looking at the water
He ended up eating 5 peanut butter crackers on our walk around the nature park and 2 more peanut butter crackers once we got back to the car.Isaiah wanted to sit on the rock, but then he won't cooperate for a picture. I think he thought he was too high or unstable to enjoy being on the rock.
After the nature park we went to dinner at Smokey Mountain Pizzeria. We picked to sit outside on the patio and continue to enjoy the warm weather!
The food was very yummy!
