On Sunday, September 2, we meet Nonna, Pops, Dan, Elise, and the boys at Cook park to go kayaking. We had so much fun kayaking the prior weekend that we wanted to go again and we wanted Campbell to experience kayaks for the first time too!
On Sunday afternoon we told Isaiah that after his nap we would go kayaking. Well, guess who couldn't fall asleep for a nap on Sunday afternoon..so when we finally went in to get Isaiah up and he excitedly said, "go kayaking" we knew he was ready for his second trip!
Campbell thought it was fun to check out the boats out of the water after they were unloaded from Nonna and Pops car.
With this many people planning to go kayaking in two boats we knew there would be a lot of waiting time, but we found ways to have fun...
checking out large leaves
sitting in the stroller
Campbell dressing up Isaiah in his hat and sunglasses
Isaiah taking off the hat and sunglasses
Travis and I (with Isaiah) took the boats out first to show Campbell how to kayak.
Campbell thought it looked pretty cool as he waited for his turn.
Isaiah seemed braver and wanted to touch the water more this time.
After a short ride, Isaiah wanted to go back to shore to play in the water. Campbell ended up coming out on the boat with me for a little ride and then I convinced him that we should head back and he should take a short ride with his Mommy too.
Elise and Campbell on the kayak!
They are waving to us.
When Elise had Campbell in the kayak Dan was also out in the other kayak.
Isaiah likes kayaking, but he also just enjoys standing in the water. Amazing how much his love for water has grown this summer.
Campbell didn't want to stay out too long, but he had fun.
Elise and Dan continued their time on the kayaks. Pops entertained Campbell with his hat while Nonna and I got the stroller and other boys ready to take to the park. While we were at the park Elise and Dan continued kayaking. After their turn int he kayaks they helped get Pops and Travis out and then joined us at the park. Finally, when Pops and Travis were done they loaded up the boats and met us at the park too. Needless to say the boys got a long play at the park time and they loved it!
The park was less crowded this Sunday than it was last Saturday. All the boys found areas they thought were fun to explore. Nonna and I ran into a few rude kids that we had to confront because we wanted a safe park environment for the boys. There were some bigger kids trying to skateboard down the slides while our little ones were around and trying to go down the slides. There was another kid walking up the slides that we told slides are for going down. All of these kids had the same rude comments..."you're not the boss of me," and "I don't have to listen to you." We did look for their parents, but it appeared that they were not nearby.
Greyson had fun climbing up and through the tunnel time and time again.
Campbell was brave and tried out walking across a narrow and somewhat wobbly bridge.
Isaiah enjoyed as many slides as he could!
Isaiah also enjoyed the baby swings...the only swings at this park!
Spinning the driving wheel at the park!
Campbell was also brave and went on the wave play structure and he thought it was hilarious!
Campbell was even a nice big brother and helped Greyson try out the wave, but Greyson wasn't much of a fan.
Campbell also helped Isaiah try out the wave. He tolerated it for a bit, but then decided it wasn't his favorite when kids slammed into him. I am not sure why Campbell lasted as long as he did on the wave...crazy kid!
When it was time to go Isaiah wanted Aunt Elise to carry him to Elise's car, but of course wouldn't cooperate for me to get a cute picture of the two of them. At least she knows he loves her (or her van)!
