As of June 25th, Travis gave his two weeks notice to PacifiCorp because he accepted a position as an applications administrator in the marketing department with A-Dec. A-Dec is a company that engineers, manufactures, and sells dental equipment...and is in NEWBERG!
So on July 5th, Trav's second to last day of work, he took his last bus/train ride into Portland! When Travis started at PacifiCorp about a year ago he was excited to be working in Portland and didn't think he would mind the commute, but he is so glad to be done commuting. Travis typically left our house around 6am got to work around 7:15am. He would leave work around 4:20pm and get home around 5:50pm. That means at least 2.5 hours of his day were spent commuting! A-Dec will only be a 5 MINUTES commute...and give him the possibility to ride his bike again!
Starting Monday he will begin work at A-Dec. His hours there will most likely be 6am-5pm, but only Monday-Thursday! So he will be gone less time each day AND we will have three day weekends together!
While Travis is in transition between one job and the next things are staying pretty steady at home- Isaiah and I enjoying summer together! And in the past couple of days Isaiah has enjoyed the outdoors, but also got his first knee/leg "a little owies." They are really minimal, but he sure notices and talks about them a lot!
After our week in Idaho we went looking for a few new things at our local toy stores. This USA map puzzle came home with us from Lakeshore. It is still a bit overwhelming for him with so many pieces. However, he is starting to understand that people live in different states from us-and that some live far away and we can't visit them ALL the time! We have been talking a lot about our family and friends who live in Idaho. Jolene lives in Idaho, Spencer lives in Idaho, Salina lives in Idaho...are his favorites. We have also talked about that Shawn lives in Ohio. We have also talked about that our baby brother or sister will be from Florida!
On Thursday, July 5th we got to meet our friend, Ruthie, for lunch at Taco Bell. Isaiah enjoyed his usual (what he accepts...crackers, yogurt, raisins, granola bar) foods that I packed for him, but he also enjoyed Ruthie's yummy cinnamon twist treats at the end of his lunch! It was great to visit with Ruthie and hear about her summer so far.
Here is to enjoying more summer as my weather app is forecasting lots of SUNSHINE!
