Discovery Meadows Park and Finger Painting

On Tuesday morning (July 10) my sister and I were texting and she invited Isaiah and I to meet her and the kids and some of their friends at Discovery Meadows park in McMinnville. This park is AMAZING!  We went to it one other time (I think last summer) and Isaiah wasn't as experienced with parks so he wasn't into all of the parks cool features, but he did awesome this time!  He has grown up so much this summer.  It is fun to see him enjoying more and more at all the different parks.  As soon as we got to the park he started going down the twisty slides...and they were pretty high up twisty slides too!  I think we have finally found a comparable park to Aunt Jolene's park with the red circle twisty slide!

Campbell doesn't like the twisty slides...he thinks they are too scary so he was monitoring Isaiah going on the slides.  He waited for him at the bottom of the slide for a long time.  Too cute!

Isaiah was always happy to see Campbell at the end of the slide.

After playing for awhile on the park equipment we decided to eat our picnic lunch.  Lunch provided MANY moments of laughter.  AJ (a friend) dropped his PB and J sandwich on the ground.  His mommy had to do the best she could at dusting the sand off.  Then Campbell knocked Isaiah's cup of goldfish on the ground-we just threw them away.  Isaiah somehow almost fell off the bench, but with my quickness I grabbed him with my hands and saved him from falling on the hard concert.  Later Campbell dropped his muffin on the ground. AJ was not happy that Campbell tried to eat it because it was dirty.  So we threw that muffin away and got him a new one.  Meanwhile during all this Greyson is in the stroller trying to eat, but not too happy and getting food all over himself!  Ah, I don't even know how the adults managed to get food in our mouths.  Fun times and lots of laughter made it all worth it!  When we were finished with lunch we ventured over to the water feature area.  The water part of the park is more spray fountains than any of the parks we have been to earlier this summer.  Isaiah didn't do a lot of running through the fountains, but he loved watching them go from big to small and enjoyed getting wet from the mist or when Mommy helped him through the fountains.  Greyson checked them out a little too and Campbell was not interested.

Eventually the kids were done with the water and moved back to the playground area.  I actually thought I lost Isaiah for a minute when I couldn't see him, but he was just inside the train tube.  Parks are fun, but sometimes it is difficult to keep track of your child at a park with lots of different sections!

Before we left the park Isaiah did make his way back to the big twisty slides.  This time he ventured over to the green slide...it is a tiny bit higher than the blue one he started the morning going down.  After I showed him one or twice how to climb the stairs to the top he was all about doing it over and over by himself.

We finally decided it was time to leave the park.  Campbell asked if we could come over to his house so we did.  And the boys got to do a fun things...Campbell rode in Kalina's car (the blue car as he calls it) and Isaiah got to ride in Elise's van!  They had fun switching carseats for the ride home!

Once we were at their house Campbell pretty quickly suggested that they finger paint. Isaiah hasn't done a lot of this so I was interested to see if he like it or not.   And somehow finger painting turned more into HAND painting, but I would say both boys had a great time painting! Isaiah definitely got more dirty than Campbell though.

We had a fun morning and afternoon, which made for a great nap time.  We are making sure to enjoy summer to the fullest!
