Saturday Morning at Home

Last week, I think on Thursday evening when Travis and I were paying bills, I told Travis we had two chores to do this weekend...1)do some much needed filing and 2)do our pop can recycling.  Obviously only two chores in a whole weekend was a joke in this household.

On Saturday morning we all slept in, then I made us yummy french toast, and chores began.  We did work on the much needed filing, but we didn't just file the papers...we also sorted through our files.  So while we were busy in the hallway with the file cabinet...Isaiah was busy in his bedroom! He dumped a lot of toys, but he stayed busy playing lots of puzzles.

We found lots of unnecessary papers stored in the files that could be shredded (a chore Isaiah loves to help do with our supervision of course).

But first, in one of the files we found AAA STICKERS!  What kids doesn't love to play with three SHINY, RECTANGLE stickers?!

on the pants
off the pants
on the carpet
off the carpet and back onto the pants
on the pants (and shirt)
stickers coming off
stickers on the carpet

and so went the game for some time...
until he got distracted by the shredder

and when the shredder needed breaks
he was ok with playing toy till it cooled

I sure do love a Saturday morning with no big agenda because it means we can stay in our pajamas most of the morning and into early afternoon!  Isaiah is wearing a pair of hand-me down Dinosaur ROAR pj's, which are fun, but he is also looks especially cute because of his new hair cut (another Thursday night chore-  I used thinning shears this time to make his hair cut even better).

All good lazy mornings must come to an end at some point I guess.  So eventually we showered and changed out of pj's, but Isaiah still wanted to play/wear his AAA stickers so we let him until the sticky ran out.  Ah the joy of three freebie stickers!

After lunch at home we ventured out of the house.  Nonna had asked us to run by the library for her so we did that first, but Isaiah knew we were going to Costco too and was not pleased but survived our extra stop.  When leaving the library I asked him if he wanted to go to the toy store (Mud Puddles) because I wanted to go there or Costco.  He picked Costco-silly boy!  Somehow I squeezed in a quick trip to Target before actually going into Costco good thing they are in the same parking lot and he does like Target too.  After our morning chores and afternoon errands Isaiah was tired.

Saturdays with no specific agenda can be such a blessing!  And in case you are curious if we finished our other chore...yes, we recycled the pop cans on Sunday afternoon.
