It took about one hour to get Isaiah to sleep, but for now I have a sleeping baby so I will try to upload a quick blog post about our day before he needs his mommy for some reassurance.
Monday Happenings:
Isaiah was woken up by the garbage truck this morning. We gave him a bottle in our bed... and he actually fell asleep again! He never relaxes much in our bed with us. He slept for at least another hour maybe hour and half. I treasure every extra minute of sleep he lets me get!
Isaiah and mommy had breakfast, took a bath, played toys, mommy cleaned a bathroom while Isaiah continued to play toys and then finally daddy woke up! We finished getting ready and headed to Isaiah's doctors appointment.
We met Dr. Leslie and Isaiah was not a fan! He really disliked the nurse and wasn't totally sure about the doctor. He had a couple tough moments and a couple comfortable moments with the doctor. We were able to ask lots of questions and our doctor was very informative and thorough. We also learned that Isaiah needed 5 more shots! Poor little guy. I was glad Travis was able to go to the doctors appointment with us because he held Isaiah during the shots and I ended up picking up his floride prescription instead. Isaiah hasn't seemed to be bothered by the shots, which I am so grateful.
Isaiah enjoyed playing with the toys at the doctors office while we waited for our appointment.
He really seems to enjoy activity boxes. We have one at home too.
After the doctors appointment we went out to lunch at Chipotle. Isaiah was hungry and enjoyed eating. Then we went to Nordstroms and bought Isaiah his first pair of Keen sandals. On our way back Isaiah fell asleep in the car seat and we were able to successfully transfer him to his crib and he took a couple hour nap.
Aren't these adorable!
Isaiah has tiny feet. He is only wearing a size 5.
Tonight Travis had class so Isaiah and I enjoyed an evening together. We tested out his new shoes and we went for a walk to the mailbox. We listened to tons of Mary Rice Hopkins music, ate dinner, and played toys.
Isaiah was very interested in Sophie eating dinner tonight. He watched her very carefully, but he also dropped that yellow toy lid a few times and scared poor Sophie.
We haven't really shown Isaiah the play kitchen that we had bought him and he hadn't really discovered it yet. I showed it to him tonight and he thought it was alright. He liked watching the lights flicker and listening to the pot sizzle on the stove.
When I put the coffee pot on the stove he seemed a little scared because he stepped back to watch it.
Isaiah discovered that the kitchen toy has cups too!
He thought it was fun to toss and flip the cups.
I tried to show Isaiah how to pretend drink out of the cup and eat the food. He went ahead and tried eating the corn. Now if we could just get him to actually like corn or any vegetables for that matter. I am sure with time he will learn to like more foods. He has had a lot to adjust to in the past couple of weeks.
When I left Isaiah this evening he was in the corner of his crib laying the width of the crib instead of laying the length of the crib. I was worried he was going to wake up unhappy because he would have run into the edges of the crib, but he has been asleep for one hour... and I just checked our video monitor and he has adjusted and is laying the right way in the crib. Hopefully he sleeps through the night.

Thanks for the updates. I'm amazed at how many you've been able to post! Adjusting to less sleep/interrupted sleep is hard!
It's so nice that Travis was willing to hold Isaiah during his shots. Unfortunately, that's something that is easier when they are tiny babies. Kirk has been with Trip during several medical procedures that I would not have been able to handle.
