Catch Up Time

Wow, being a Mommy and Daddy is hard work. I guess we already knew that but we are still experiencing the changes of parenthood...a little lack of sleep. Somehow by Thursday nap time and Isaiah's night time sleep getting sleep myself won out over blogging. And thus has been the story until Sunday evening. I will do my best to catch you up on the happening from the last few days. Good thing I took lots of pictures to help me remember our first week with our wonderful baby boy!
Thursday morning we finally ventured out in the car. Here is his 2nd car seat experience, first time to take a picture. The big trip out was to take Isaiah's medical records to Kaiser before our appointment this next week.
On our way back from Kaiser we made a quick stop at Nonna and Pops house because Campbell was there. Campbell was playing in the tent and Isaiah got to check it out too.
Playing with a ball in the tent!
Thursday afternoon our friends Josh, Sarah, and baby Lily came over and brought us Abby's pizza and salad. Both the kids were hungry and needing naps... so the visit didn't get to many great photos, but it was good to see them.
Thursday evening Aunt Kayla came over and made us dinner and played lots of cups with Isaiah. They were pretending to have hats.
Isaiah wasn't into the pictures, poor Aunt Kayla we will get a cute one of you guys maybe when you and Uncle Josh come back to visit again.
Friday morning we had another bath time success. He was perhaps a little timid going into the bathroom...
But enjoyed playing with his toys in the bathtub.
Friday afternoon our friends Adam, Brook, and baby Michaela brought us dinner and came over for a short visit. Michaela and Isaiah had fun crawling around together.
Friday evening Mommy was having a snack of a chocolate chip cookie and Isaiah was very interested. Being such a great Mommy I allowed him to share the cookie with me. He loved it!
Figuring out food for Isaiah that he likes is still a little bit of a challenge, but we are slowly making some progress. He loves fruit, but most other things we have tried he isn't really a fan (not yet anyways). Meats, cheese, vegetables... the other food groups aren't that interesting to him. So by Friday evening the parent tiredness was in full force and so we allowed our son to eat a raspberry cereal bar for dinner. Yep, he ate the whole thing. It was messy, but so delicious!
Friday evening was also his first evening to successfully understand the concept of a sippy cup. Poor little guy is having to deal with a lot of different things here, but we are so proud of how well he is doing with all of the changes.
Saturday evening we went to Nonna and Pop's house for dinner so that we could also see Grammy and Grandad (who are still in town). This was Campbell and Isaiah's first time being in Nonna and Pop's two highchairs- they were happy boys!
Nonna was playing a silly kissing game with Isaiah and he loved it.
Campbell packed his bongo drums from home and enjoyed playing them for us.
We took Isaiah to church this morning. This was his adorable church outfit. Thanks Kristin and Jason for this super cute shirt. I love Isaiah's smile in this photo.
We took Isaiah out into the backyard today. He wasn't sure of the different textured grounds.
He sat and watched Daddy bring the dirt from the car to the backyard.
All smiles...this boy loves being outside.
Mommy and Isaiah came inside while Daddy finished planting the last few things in our planter boxes, but ever now and then Isaiah would go and check on Daddy-so cute!
This evening Isaiah helped me sort coupons. I gave him all my expired coupons to play with while I was doing the chore of sorting out expired coupons from my coupon folder.
Look how many he has in his hand right now. He loved playing with the paper.
Yep, he slowly moved each and every expired coupon from the table onto the floor. Thanks baby!

Well, these are a few of the highlights from the past few days. We are so blessed to have Isaiah home. We love him tons! We are excited to have almost a whole home week home under our belts.
