Isaiah's First Day of Preschool 2013-2014

Isaiah's first day of Newberg Child Development Preschool was September 10th.  He is going to preschool three days a week this year on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. He has four teachers: Teacher Debbie, Teacher Sherri, Teacher Luticia, and Teacher Kim.

I want to remember that he picked out this outfit for school... green shorts and his brown guitar shirt. He would live in this guitar shirt if I let him.  So it was fitting to wear on the first day of school as a comfort item!

These pictures before school crack me up... they are so him! He had a lot of worried faces...he was nervous to go to school, but he also had some smiles and once he started school he remembered how much he loves his teachers and friends!

It's hard to believe my baby boy is such a big boy in these pictures and heading off to school!

Making Grammy's Owl...Round 1 (9-9)

I bought a one dollar owl making kit that what I thought was Perler Beads.  They were actually Melty Beads- and totally not as awesome when it came time to melt the project together.

Isaiah was happy to help sort the beads, and he was able to help count how many beads I needed of each color, he even placed several beads on the peg board.

Here is the adorable owl finished on the peg board...before we ruined it.

However, after I used the iron the project was ruined.  It melted unevenly...in fact it melted so much that he melted onto the peg board, which was weird since I followed all the directions precisely.

Later this afternoon Isaiah and I went to his OT appointment.  It is close to a fountain and lake that he enjoys sitting by for a few minutes either before or after his appointment.

Kayaking (9-8)

We finally took the kayaks out this season...way over due!

Isaiah loved it even more this year.  He was more interested in helping with rowing this year, but he also wanted to stick his hand in the water which wasn't too helpful.

Esther hung out on the grass with Nonna and Pops while we kayaked.

Isaiah's First Time Going to the Dentist (9-6)

Daddy took Isaiah to the dentist while Esther and I went to get my new glasses.  Daddy had to help Isaiah quite a bit so he didn't have time to think about getting a picture or two of Isaiah at the dentist. But he went and didn't totally freak out...they were able to look at and clean his teeth.

I ordered my glasses at a place close to Haggen (a grocery store) that sells yummy donuts that Isaiah likes so I bought him some for his treat after going to the dentist.  Grandad LOVES donuts too so we took the treats to Grandad's house and shared the special treat.

Later in the day there was more time for drawing pooping bears...

Random Moments... (9-3, 9-4, and 9-5)

Tuesday, September 3rd

Isaiah has discovered that getting in the pack n play is fun!

He asked me to take his picture while at the grocery store...next to the letters and numbers!

We rode in Nonna's car to pick up Pop's and then go to Kaiser to get Nonna's new glasses.
We thought I would fit better between the two kids car seats... ha, it was pretty crowded,
but we survived. Isaiah even took a nap.

Esther took a short nap too, but needed entertained while we were waiting for Nonna to get
her new glasses.  We let her shred paper napkins in her car seat...she had a blast!

Isaiah is really into wearing his sunglasses even in the dark...it cracks us up!

Wednesday, September 4th

Esther still loves sleeping with blankets snuggled next to her face.

Isaiah is really into drawing right now...and has been busy making lots of people.

Isaiah also loves a good pile of toys surrounding him!
Today was music things... star house, barn, and music table all together.

Thursday, September 5th

My friend Angela and I are planning/working on all the details for our friend Allison's baby shower.

After preschool today both kids were exhausted.  Esther hadn't napped while Isaiah was at school and Isaiah was just more tired today, but I could only get them to relax on me...so they both ended up napping on me.  I tried to get a picture....Esther is under the pile of pink blanket.

Planes! (9-2)

Isaiah went to his first movie in the theater...Planes!

Daddy and Grandad took him to the movie while Esther and I stayed home.  They went around lunch time so that Isaiah could eat his lunch/snacks to help him make it through the whole movie.  He did great (so I hear)!  I don't know how well he understood the story of the movie, but he liked parts of it because he talked about a few different things when they came home.

Long Weekend in Madras (August 30-September 1)

On Friday night we went bowling!

On Saturday morning we enjoyed the park, Saturday market, and a walk around downtown.

On Saturday afternoon we took Grandma and Grandpa to the Sunriver Sharc center.  We figured Isaiah would have fun going again since he has been talking about it tons since we went in July.  He talked a ton about the red dump and blue dump but we really didn't spend much time in the inside pool around the dumps.  We did the floating rafts (boats) first thing...this is still my favorite!

Getting warm and having a snack.

Playing in the sand/water area...this was not really an area we played in earlier this
summer, but both kids loved it this time!

Esther hasn't been to the beach, but she was not shy with the sand...she loved digging in the sand!

The action shots from Sunriver!

After our fun at the Sharc center we stopped for a late dinner at Applebee's.  Esther was very sleepy!

Isaiah was super sleepy after his snack at Applebee's!
And our super silly boy thought he should wear his sunglasses even though it was dark out.

Sunday we went to church, had lunch, and then headed home.
