Saturday Before Easter

Without thinking logically about the date 4/23 (the Saturday before Easter) we decided to go to the zoo.  We knew the weather was supposed to be warm (high 60's maybe even 70) so we figured the weather would be great for the zoo.  We even considered since the weather was so great perhaps the zoo would be busy.  However, we didn't take into account that the zoo would be busy because they were holding an Easter Egg Hunt!  So after about an hour drive, reaching the zoo to discover crazy crowds and no parking, we opted for a no go on the zoo trip. 

Since we already had a picnic lunch packed and were looking forward to some family hang out time we quickly had to revise our plans.  Instead we went to Cook Park.  The park was still crowded, but mostly on the top half where the fields and playground equipment is located.  However, we went to the lower half by the water and walking trails and enjoyed the warm weather, space to run and play "I'm going to get you", and get our yummy picnic lunch.

We didn't take too many pictures because we were having too much fun soaking in the sun.  Vitamin D is rare in the state of Oregon so we have to take it when we get it!
