One of my students gave me some yummy Christmas treats this week. I liked them so much I asked her to bring me the recipe so I could make them too. I have included the recipe and some pictures of my cousins and I making them. I think they were just as delicious as the ones she brought to me!
Chocolate Ornaments
1 package (8 squares) Baker’s semi-sweet chocolate
½ package (4 oz) Philadelphia cream cheese, cubed, softened
1 tub (8 oz) cool whip whipped topping, thawed
Assorted coatings, such as powdered sugar, finely chopped nuts, toasted baker’s angel flake coconut, grated baker’s semi-sweet chocolate, cookie crumbs, or multicolored sprinkles
Microwave chocolate in large microwavable bowl on high 2 minutes or until chocolate is almost melted, stirring halfway through heating time. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Add cream cheese; stir with wire whisk until smooth. Cool 20 minutes or until room temperature. Gently stir in whipped topping with wire whisk until blended.
Freeze 1 hour; scoop into 1 inch balls. If necessary freeze balls 30 minutes longer or until firm enough to roll. Roll in assorted coatings as desired. Refrigerate or freeze until ready to serve.
Makes 2 ½ to 3 dozen
Making these treats was a little messy just like my student warned me, but a lot of fun.
It was fun to spending time hanging out and cooking Christmas cookies with my college cousins!
Kristin got hungry and ordered pizza...it was a yummy late night snack!
While we waiting for the cookies to firm in the freezer Kelsey braided Kristin and my hair.
Thanks for staying at our house Kristin and Kelsey! We had fun having you visit for a whole week.
