Count Down to Christmas Continues

Thankfully I checked my picture upload capability before I signed off and it looks as if I didn't have to wait 24 hours for my account to be updated!  Now you faithful blog readers can continue to read about our count down to Christmas!

Well, to start it is a good thing I had decided ahead of time that I wasn't going to stress about doing something special everyday because nothing exciting happened on December 2nd.  I attended a work training all day Thursday.  Isaiah was at Nonna's house all day and then we went up there for dinner.  By the time we got home it was bedtime for everyone!

However, Friday, December 3rd we had some family fun.  The first thing happened when Isaiah woke up from his nap.  It was around 4:30 pm and for some reason I didn't have any other lights on downstairs other than the Christmas tree lights so he finally discovered the magic of the Christmas tree.
Feeling the tree branches

Excited about the lights on the tree!

My good friend Emily (who lives in Hong Kong) called around 5:00pm when I should have been making dinner, but wasn't yet.  We chatted for awhile so when I finally got off the phone and Travis was home from work we decided to go out to dinner to have some fun as a family.
We went to a local restaurant called Yamhill Grill

Isaiah loved sitting by the fire, he kept telling us hot!

He had fun playing with our silverware before our food came.

Isaiah also liked coloring his menu and...
naming the shapes on his menu!
I ordered a yummy Parmesan dip appetizer for my dinner and Travis had a french dip.  Isaiah shared with us and ate some stuff we packed in his lunch/dinner sack!  The food was very delicious.  After dinner we enjoyed walking around Fred Meyer.  It was great to spend an evening with my family.

On Saturday, December 4 Travis had to meet with his group mates at 10:00am to work on a school project.  Before he had to go to the meeting we decided to make a yummy breakfast of chocolate muffins.

We were excited to use our Christmas themed muffin cups!
Our muffin cups came with these fancy toothpicks, but wasn't sure how we would use them.  However, not long after getting the muffins in the oven I thought of a use.  They were a perfect fit for our pocket count down to Christmas calendar.
Isaiah is now moving the tree from pocket to pocket each morning. He loves looking at all the numbers on this calendar!  He can say several numbers ans recognizes a few, but his favorites are 8, 13, and 18!
