Last Thursday our routine was a little different than normal. Travis (who had been gone to Boise on Tuesday and Wednesday) went straight to work Thursday morning instead of taking Isaiah to Nonna's house. Instead I took Isaiah to Nonna's house and then headed to work for a FULL 10 hour day of conferences! Around lunch time Travis picked Isaiah up from Nonna's house and brought him back home and stayed with him for the rest of the afternoon and evening.
Well, while Daddy was in charge he worked very hard to teach Isaiah a new word. That new word was MOMMY! Isaiah has been saying Mom for awhile, but would never say Mommy. Travis, being an amazingly loving husband, worked all afternoon and evening to teach him to say Mommy. And it worked and has stuck.
Isaiah now calls me Mommy all the time and I LOVE IT!
In fact the interesting thing is he is starting to tell us who he wants more and more. At bedtime he almost always requests Mommy now, which feels good, but at the same time it is a little sad that Daddy can't do the bed time routine on occasion without tears and fussing for Mommy.
