We are staying at the Somerset Palace... which is amazing! We are leaving our hotel as a family of two and will return to our room as a family of three. We were supposed to leave at 9am, but I think we got a little anxious and ended up leaving around 8:45am.
Only final family of two photo right outside our hotel by a beautiful fountain. At this point we were both feeling pretty good and not too nervous.
On the subway- it was a pretty easy way to travel.
We are pointing to a sign that shows the town name where Holt is located.
Holt Children's Services Inc. was on the subway board!
The official Holt building. We got there around 10 which was a half hour early, but as we entered the building we saw our foster mom with Isaiah in her arms waving at us. They recognized us!
We went upstairs to the 2nd floor where we went into the official meeting room. Foster mom mentioned to DJ the social worker that he is shy with strangers. I wasn't exactly sure when was okay to interact with my son, so I waited until DJ said something about toys and then I pulled out the LOOT! He loved this toy!
The weather here is very humid and much warmer than we expected. Even Isaiah thought it is hot. Poor baby was sweating just sitting on my lap. Later I realized why- he had on three shirts and two pairs of pants! Isn't he adorable even when he is sweaty?
After I played toys with him for a few minutes then it was Travis' turn. Oh did I mention that there were NO TEARS! He was totally fine hanging out with me and totally fine hanging out with Travis too. God is so awesome!
Isaiah loves the sweet potato puffs. This picture was taken right before he had his final doctors check. During the doctor check up he fussed and had a tiny cry.
After the doctor check up we took a few group photos.
Travis and I with foster mom holding Isaiah (this was her final time giving our boy love).
We went back upstairs after the doctor check up and went over the final paper work. I put the carrier on and Isaiah went in just great. We said goodbye upstairs and then again downstairs. Again NO TEARS from Isaiah! When we were walking away I got just a couple tears in my eyes. I am so impressed with how well this went. I could not have asked for a better first meeting with my son. I AM A MOM!
And a good mom too... I got my little one to fall asleep on his first subway ride.
Isn't he just so precious! A true blessing from God.
Back at the Somerset as a family of three!
