Diaper Change on the Road

This afternoon while I talked to my friend Emily on Skype Isaiah was getting sleepy so I put him in the carrier. He ended up falling asleep pretty quickly. So instead of changing his diaper before we left we decided to let him sleep and we would deal with a diaper change on the road.

Well after the subway ride Isaiah ended up waking up so we decided to change his diaper in a bathroom in the subway before exiting. Nonna and I went into the bathroom, but there was an older woman organizing her bag on the diaper changing table. I had Isaiah in the carrier and Nonna had the diaper and wipes out so to us it looked pretty obvious why we were standing next to the changing table. We waited to use the changing table for awhile... the women tried to talk to us in Korean, but we didn't understand. Finally, after the lady was still taking her sweet time we decided we would just find another place to change his diaper so we left.

We tired the Hamiliton Shopping Center... gross! I won't have used the bathroom myself, and there was no changing table. Then we went to a Burger King... tiny bathrooms with no changing table. Next we went to McDonalds... again tiny bathrooms with no changing table.

Alas we decided to walk back to the subway station and try that bathroom again. When Nonna and I entered the bathroom this time there was a ladies purse and bags on the changing table. We waited (a much shorter wait) for the lady to recognize and move her belongings.

Oh did I mention Isaiah HATES his diaper to be changed. So after all the searching for a changing table he cried super hard once we finally changed his SOAKING WET diaper.

Super sad Isaiah after his diaper change. I guess we need to be thankful that bathrooms in United States have changing tables!
